Description
The Nutteries is a Grade II listed building that consists of two cottages, which have now been combined into one. It dates from the 17th century and features a timber frame with rendered wattle and daub infill beneath a thatched roof. The layout follows a three-cell lobby entrance plan and the building is one storey high with a dormer attic, set on a brick plinth.
There is a door located to the left of the stack and a second door to the right, which is positioned behind a 20th-century porch. The building has two 18th-century casement windows and one 19th-century sash window. The gabled roof includes a sloping pantiled dormer that contains an 18th-century sash window, along with a ridge stack.
To the left of the main structure, there is a two-storey extension with a pantiled roof and 18th-century windows, as well as a further single-storey outbuilding, also with a pantiled roof. Inside, there are diamond stops on the bridging beams, a winder staircase located by the stack, and a roof featuring spine beams and collars, the latter of which have been added to support the attic ceiling.
