Description

The London Coal Duty Marker, located on the district boundary at Little Heath, was erected in 1861 and is a Grade II listed structure. It was cast by Henry Grissell at the Regents Canal Ironworks and marks the extent of coal duty, which extends 20 miles from the General Post Office. The marker is a cast iron square pier that stands one and a half metres high and is painted white. It features chamfered corners and a pyramid-shaped top. The City of London crest is displayed on the necking, and the front face bears the inscription "24 Vict".
