Description

The Loyd Memorial Cross, located about 20 meters south of the Church of St. Paul, is a memorial cross dedicated to W.J. Loyd, who died in 1885. It was given by his son, L.V. Loyd. The cross is made of marble and stands approximately 4 to 5 meters tall. It features a stepped base leading up to a semi-pyramid, which bears a dedicatory inscription. The face of the cross that faces the church includes bas-relief panels depicting figures of apostles, the Crucifixion with attendant angels, and quadrant links connecting the arms to the main shaft and head.
