Description

The King's Head Public House is a public house dating from the early to mid 18th century, with a part refronting and extension around 1900. It is constructed of red brick, which has been whitewashed and rendered at the front, and features a machine-tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a main range with four windows.

The left side consists of two bays with 18th-century brickwork, featuring later three-light casements and some blocked openings, along with a plat band. There is an external left end stack with offsets, stacks on the front pitch between the left bays, and a central ridge stack. The right side was refronted around 1900, with a ground floor entrance flanked by three-light windows, all rusticated and supported by panelled end piers. Above, there is a cornice leading to two-light casements with gabled heads and a parapet.

To the far right, there is an angled entrance with curved doors and a two-light casement above. Attached to the right end is a taller two-storey late 19th-century block, which features a full-height canted bay at the front with one bay of tall leaded lights to the left, all rusticated and topped with a cornice. This block has an extruded right end stack with flanking blind openings. At the rear, there are dentilled eaves, similar casements, and part roughcast, with the later block containing an entrance and flush frame sashes.
