Description

156 High Street in Stevenage is a timber-framed house dating from the 18th century, which is finished in stucco and features a steeply pitched roof covered in red clay tiles, topped with a red-brick ridge stack. The building has a square plan with a rear projection on the west side.

The exterior consists of two storeys and two bays, showcasing flush, eight-over-eight pane sash windows. The entrance is slightly off-centre and features a six-panelled door with a ribbed surround, roundels at the corners, and a cut bracketed hood.

Inside, the house has a crown-post roof that is braced only to the collar purlin.
