Description

This is a mid-18th century building, originally two cottages. The cottages have hipped, tiled roofs of a moderate pitch and are constructed of red brick with a brick cornice. The right-hand section is two storeys high with three windows on the first floor; the central window has been blocked and plastered over. It features Yorkshire sash windows with gauged, shallow segmental brick arches. A small window was inserted to the right of the front door, likely shortly after the building's construction. A cornice hood is supported by curved brackets over the door. The left-hand section is also two storeys high and has only one window. The first-floor window has a wooden lintel, while the ground-floor window has a gauged brick arch, both being sash windows with glazing bars. A Sun Life Assurance plaque is affixed to the first floor of the right-hand section. A smaller, earlier two-storey, two-window building is located at the rear, integrated into the main house. This older building has had modern windows inserted.
