Description
No. 11 London Road is a villa built around 1830, likely designed by George Smith. This two-storey building features three windows and was originally part of a pair. The low-pitched slate roof is hipped on one side only, and it has deep eaves with paired brackets. The walls are stuccoed, with plain reveals around the windows. The first-floor windows are segment-headed sashes with glazing bars, while the ground-floor windows are long casements that include margin lights and decorative glazing above the transoms. These ground-floor windows also have louvred shutters. The original door has a plain reveal and is topped with a cornice hood. A loggia runs along the ground floor, covered by a slate roof and featuring a trellised frieze supported by slender, round columns.
