Description
The Black Boy Public House is a public house dating from the late 17th century, featuring a timber frame with red brick casing from the 17th and 19th centuries. It has plain tile roofs and stands two storeys high. The early range has a gable end positioned in the centre, with a clasped purlin roof visible in the roughcast front gable. To the left, there is a two-storey wing from the 17th to 18th century with a double-pile roof and one sash window on its front. The central block has a 19th-century door and a segmental-headed sash window. At the rear, there is a lower early 19th-century block with two glazing bar casements. An external stack is located at the junction of the front block. Inside, the building features roll-moulded floor beams and joists in the centre bay.
