Description

This is an archway with lodges that originally served the drive to Sopwell House. Dating from 1582, the arch stands at the roadside to the southeast of the main house. It is a tall, round arch flanked by two single-storey lodges. These lodges are stuccoed and feature a single window, set beneath low-pitched, hipped slate roofs. Cast iron double gates are positioned within the arch.
