Description
Corner Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It was recased in red brick in 1795, as indicated by dated bricks. The building features a plain tile roof and has a principal brick ridge chimney stack on the right side, with a secondary chimney from the late 18th century located towards the left, originally on the gable end. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four casement windows, with the left bay dating from the 18th century but rebuilt in the 1930s. The ground floor has cambered brick arches and a deeply revealed square-headed doorway topped with a cornice hood supported by shaped brackets. There is a late 19th-century rear wing on the left with a low-pitched slate roof, and the rear elevation above the ground floor pentice shows exposed studs.
