Description

This is a late 18th century range of two-storey buildings located on the south side of Tilehouse Street. The buildings have been tile-hung more recently. The eastern end features a cross-gabled carriageway and a tall, three-bay feature extends the full height of the building between numbers 25 and 26 to a gambrelled tiled roof. There are five sash windows. Number 25 has a simple doorcase with a hood and deep reveals which include double rows of panelling to frame an eight-panelled door. Number 26’s porch features a flat hood over a plain entablature supported by pilasters, and a semi-panelled door with a single row of fielded panels in the reveals. Numbers 1 to 17, numbers 19 to 32, and numbers 35 to 40 form a group.
