Description
The garden walls at The Priory are of historical significance, featuring medieval foundations in parts located to the southeast of the house, with the remaining sections dating from the 17th century and later. Constructed from red brick in various shades and sizes, the southeastern part includes uncoursed flint that incorporates much dressed medieval clunch and stonework from the priory buildings. The walls generally stand about 2 meters high. The wall to the southeast of the house likely marks the line of a monk's cemetery enclosure. Additionally, there is a beebole with a segmental head and stone cheeks on the north face. The walls to the north and northwest of the house were probably built when this section of the surrounding moat was filled in.
