Description
No. 30 Bancroft is a mid-18th century brick house that stands two storeys tall. A section to the north features a large cross-gable and has been completely rebuilt. The main brickwork, aside from some patches of restoration, is made of blue seconds laid in header courses and dressed with red. The house has moulded wooden eaves beneath a steep roof covered in modern slate, which includes modern dormers. There are five windows, with the centre window being blank. The entrance features a modern door set within a simple old architrave that has a slight hood above it. The flush set sash windows have cambered arches on the ground floor, while the first floor features glazing bars and flat arches. A porch with Roman Ionic fluted columns leads to a left central glazed door, which is surrounded by an architrave and topped with a dentil cornice on consoles. No. 30, along with Nos. 32 to 34, forms a group.
