Description
34 Bancroft is a historic 18th-century brick house with two storeys. The facade has been re-faced and features a brick string course between the floors, along with a moulded brick cornice beneath a parapet that curves down at each end. At the center, there is a small pediment above a slightly projecting central bay. The carved wooden doorcase is adorned with a rusticated architrave that has long-and-short sides and a multiple splayed keystone beneath a small pediment. The door itself has six fielded panels in the upper half and is set back between similarly panelled reveals. There are five windows with broad flush frames, sashes that include glazing bars, and louvered shutters. Nos 30 and 32 to 34 Bancroft form a group with this building.
