Description
This is a terrace of six cottages, numbered 7 to 17, located on Lytton Avenue. Built in 1907 by C.M. Crickmer, the terrace was designed to resemble a rural cottage and won first prize in Class III of the 1907 Urban Cottages Competition. The cottages are two storeys high, with a single window each. The facade is symmetrical, with projecting gabled bays emphasizing numbers 9 and 15. The roofs are tiled with half-hipped designs and feature multi-form brick stacks. The walls are roughcast, and the gables are tile-hung, with a jettied overhang above the six-light bay windows at numbers 9 and 15. Dormers are incorporated into the roof. The windows are four-light mullioned with glazing bars and decorative tile labels. The cottages have boarded doors.
