Description

Bury End is a cottage that was originally part of a tenement range, dating from the mid 17th century. It features a two-bay house that was extended in the 18th century with single-storey bays at each end. The building has a timber frame with plastered walls and a thatched roof, consisting of one storey and attics. The windows are arranged in a 1:2:1 pattern with casements, and the center has two eyebrow attic dormers. There is a central plank door and a 17th-century ridge stack. Inside, there is a central inglenook and the right center bay has a chamfer-stopped beam. A simple 18th-century staircase is located in the right end bay. Additionally, there is a rear left extension that was added around 1950.
