Description
16 and 17 Sun Street are buildings dating from the 17th century or earlier, with some alterations. They are constructed of colour washed plaster and stand two storeys high with attics. The buildings have wide eaves and a steep tiled roof, which features some old brickwork in the chimney stack. There are two modern dormers and sash windows on the upper floor, likely enlarged from their original size. A notable feature of the buildings is a pair of gently bowed late 18th century shop windows on the ground floor. One of these shop windows is combined with a door that has fielded panels at the base and contemporary glazing in the upper half. Nos 13 to 34 Sun Street form a group with these buildings.
