Description

This is an 18th-century red brick house located on Whitehorse Street. It was formerly known as Grove House School. The house is two storeys high, with a first-floor band and a moulded brick cornice topped by a parapet. Five sash windows are set in shallow reveals, each with a flat arch above. Two steps lead up to a four-panelled door with a fanlight, all contained within a surround of fluted Doric pilasters, an entablature with a modillion cornice, and a pediment. Nos. 27 to 39 (the odd numbers) form a group.
