Description

This is an 18th century house with wings, later subdivided. The central block is five windows wide and of three storeys, constructed of red brick with five windows. A first-floor band, eaves entablature, and a roof parapet run along the top. The corners feature pale grey brickwork with quoins above the ground floor, and pilasters. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within reveals under flat arches. A wooden porch is centrally positioned, with fluted Doric pillars and pilasters, an entablature featuring a triple keystone, and formerly held an early 19th century iron lamp. Narrow, round arched side windows are also present. A plaque on the east side elevation bears the date 1735. The main central block is said to contain three earlier 18th century panelled rooms: one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The two-storey east wing has four sash windows. The west wing, of two storeys and with attics, has five sash windows, four box dormers, a Welsh slated roof concealed behind a parapet, and a corbelled cornice.
