6/48 Folly about 250m SSE of Wall Hall

GV II

Folly. c.1800 for G.W.Thelluson. Built with Wall Hall (q.v.). Brick, upper part cement rendered. Picturesque Gothic. A tall wall with a pointed arch gateway and a large turret to left, square at base chamfered up to an octagon, with a lancet opening. See Sham Ruin (q.v.). (Pevsner 1977)
