Description
This is a barn located 30 meters north-north-east of the farmhouse at Broken Green, dating from the late 17th century and repaired in the 18th century. The roof structure features the inscription 'WC sen 1847' carved on a tie beam. The barn is constructed of red brick in an irregular bond and has a slated roof. It is a tall, five-bay structure facing east, with a central porch in an outshut and a full-height opening in the rear wall of the same bay. There are vertical ventilation slits at various levels, many of which are blocked. The south gable displays a rough diaper pattern of black headers. This barn is listed for its rarity as an early brick barn in this area.
