Description

This stable, located at Hadham Park, dates from the 17th century and is situated 30 meters north-northwest of the main house, on the north side of Stortford Road in Little Hadham. It features a timber frame set on a brick base and is weatherboarded, topped with a steeply pitched roof that is now covered in corrugated iron. The stable has a rectangular plan with two small bays oriented north-south. It includes jowled posts with long curved braces supporting a chamfered tie beam. The purlin roof has been rebuilt, and there are tension braces in the walls. This structure is an unusual survival and is part of a courtyard group, included for its group value.
