Description

Alma Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a dark stuccoed sill, with white weatherboarding and a steep, half-hipped thatched roof. The weatherboarded lean-to on the west side has red pantiles, as does the smaller lean-to at the east end. The house has one and a half storeys and follows a three-cell internal-chimney, lobby entry plan, facing north with the chimney located a third of the way from the west. There is an external gable chimney at the east end. The north front has four windows and no dormers, featuring two- and three-light small-paned casement windows. A battened door is positioned by the chimney, and there is a dormer on the rear of the roof.
