Description
The stables at Easneye, built in 1868 by Alfred Waterhouse, are located 40 metres northwest of the house. This stable block is constructed of red brick and features red tiled roofs that are banded with scolloped tiles. The building is L-shaped, with the main elevation facing east into a courtyard that fronts the stables. Above the stables is grooms' accommodation, accessible via a projecting polygonal stair at the back.
The structure is one storey with attics beneath a steep roof, which has crow-stepped gabled projections at each end. The centre of the building rises to two storeys and includes a gabled roof with an asymmetrical chimney and a wide arched entrance. Large windows with ornamental surrounds and segmental heads are present, along with large small dormers. The upper part of the projecting gables features arched-headed doors above paired windows.
To the north, there is a lower coachhouse in a one-storey range that terminates in a two-storey laundry block. This section displays a balanced asymmetry with crow-stepped gables, octagonal chimneys, and moulded openings.
