Description

A house dating from the late 17th century, located on Tower Hill in Much Hadham village. The house is characterised by its exposed timber-frame construction with vertical posts, and a thatched roof. The ground floor has been plastered and infilled with modern brick up to sill level. It is two storeys high and has four bays. Each bay features three-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, with some diamond-leaded glass. Original plank doors are present in the end bays, each with a sloping hood supported by consoles with guttae drops. External red brick stacks are situated on the gable ends, and a weatherboarded addition extends from the south side.
