Description
Laylock Cottage is a 17th-century house located in Much Hadham village. It features a plastered, timber-framed structure with a thatched roof, gable end facing the street, and stands two storeys tall. The section closer to the street has a steeper roof that is positioned forward of the central stack. The south elevation includes a 19th-century door supported by curved brackets, along with modern casement windows on both the ground and first floors. The gable end showcases a ground floor canted oriel window with lozenge-shaped center panes and narrow sidelights. There is a modern rear extension that is designed to be in keeping with the original style of the cottage.
