Description
The former stable block at Home Farm, located about 80 meters east of Sacombe House, was built around 1803-1806 for G. Caswall. It originally served as stables, a coach house, and accommodation for a groom. The building is constructed of stock brick, which was originally covered in stucco, and features hipped slate roofs.
This two-storey block has four bays, with two single-storey wings on either side. The central block includes two large double doors with segmental heads, while the outer bays project slightly and have recessed round-headed openings with lunettes. There is a plat band at the low first floor, which has small six-pane sash windows with gauged brick flat arched heads. The right wing has cross casements with segmental heads, and the left wing features glazing bar sashes along with a lean-to addition. The building has long return elevations and stacks at the rear, with a central valley. The interior has not been inspected.
