Description

The Garden House at The Clock House, located 40 metres west-southwest of the main house, dates from around 1760 and is believed to have been relocated from Aramstone House in Kings Capel, Ross on Wye, likely in the present century. This garden house is timber-framed and features a rusticated stucco exterior. It has a flat roof and is a small rectangular building facing east.

The front of the building is elaborately designed with pilasters and a central panelled door flanked by two windows. The doorcase is moulded, topped with a flat cornice, and includes decorative elements such as frames, swags, a carved frieze with end scrolls, and an egg-and-dart bed mould. The window sills are also moulded and carved.

Inside, the garden house boasts an elaborate panelled interior with raised and fielded panels, along with a moulded dado rail and cornice. Reeded pilasters with Doric features are present in each end wall, complemented by a triglyph frieze. The interior includes six-panel doors and a 19th-century fireplace, as well as a round-headed doorway in the rear wall.
