Description
St Margarets Farm House is an 18th-century farmhouse located in St Margarets village. It is constructed of red brick with scattered black headers and features steep tiled gable roofs, along with a slate lean-to at the rear. The house is large and L-shaped, facing south, with two storeys, attics, and a basement. It has internal gable chimneys and a symmetrical front with three windows and three gable dormers on the roof slope. The recessed sash windows are set under segmental arches and have 6/6 panes, while the cellar windows are blocked. The central entrance consists of half-glazed double doors with margin panes, accessed by five steps and framed by a pilastered surround with stepped moulded brackets that support a large flat moulded hood. There are blind recesses along the hipped rear wing facing the road, and a slated lean-to extension with casement windows fills the angle between the wings. This farmhouse remains largely unaltered.
