Description
Hunsdon Pound House, located 60 metres west-northwest of Hunsdon Mill House, is a building dating from the 18th to early 19th century. It was originally two mill cottages that have since been combined into one house. The structure is small, two storeys high, and rectangular, featuring a steep hipped roof with overhanging eaves, now covered in slates. The house has a double-pile plan with end staircases and two red brick central chimneys. The south front displays two recessed sash windows on each floor. At the eastern end, there is a lower two-storey plastered wing with a hipped slate roof and a chimney situated in the middle of its north wall. The south side has central flush box sash windows. On the north side, the entrances are accompanied by two-light casement windows with cast iron frames containing four small panes. There are small modern extensions and a porch on the north and northwest sides that are not of special interest. The original interior layout remains discernible. This picturesque plastered house is part of a group with Hunsdon Mill House and is included for its group value.
