Description
Ware Lodge is a single-storey building located in Woodhall Park, Watton-at-Stone, built around 1840 for Abel Smith. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a slate roof in the Greek Revival style, designed in the shape of a Greek cross. Each arm of the building has a recessed window with small dual sash windows, a mullion, and a transom, along with architraves that have bracketed sills and are framed by engaged Ionic columns. The ends of the building exhibit banded rustication, and there is a cornice with pediments. The returns also have similar casements and part-glazed doors facing the drive. A central ridge stack is present. The interior has not been inspected.
