Description

The marker stone at Lea Cut on The Meads is a mid-18th century limestone block. It features a recessed panel on its face inscribed with the words "This belongs to New River Company." The stone is located approximately 100 meters west of the sluice gates on the cut that connects The New River to the River Lea, and it is set into the bank.
