Description
The Old Vicarage, located north of the Vicarage and next to the churchyard, dates from around 1857, following the demolition of the former vicarage. This building is two and three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with steep red tile roofs featuring a diaper pattern in black brick. It consists of two parallel linked ranges and has tall moulded chimneys and chamfered bargeboards. The lower range has casement windows, while the three-storey range features recessed sash windows, segmental brick arches, and stone cills. On the east side of the lower block, there is a tiled single-storey bay projection, and a pargetted oriel on its south face over a glazed screen on the ground floor. The entrance is located in a porch at the north end. This building is a splendid example of a large 19th-century vicarage and is prominent in views from the churchyard.
