Description
The building is an early 18th-century bank on the south side of High Street. It is constructed of red and blue-grey chequered brickwork with red stretchers and blue-grey headers. The building is two storeys high with a tiled roof gabled at the west end, featuring a dentil eaves cornice. It has three flush sash windows with three lights on each side of a single-light window, all with cutter flat arches. A central doorway features Doric pilasters supporting entablatures with triglyphs and guttae and a pediment. The door has a panelled reveal and an oblong fanlight. The bank's name is displayed in Roman lettering below the first-floor window sills. A modern wing imitating the original style is located on the right with two windows and a similar doorway. A rear wing extends up King Road.
