Description
The barn and attached stable at Little Heath Farm date from the early 18th century, with a brick stable extension added in the 19th century. The barn is timber framed, covered in dark weatherboarding, and topped with steep old red tile roofs. The west, south, and the southern end of the east wall of the stable are made of red brick, while the rest of the east front is in weatherboarding. The barn features a tall, three-bay structure facing south, with a gabled projecting porch on the south side, a central winnowing door on the north side, and high pitching doors flanking the winnowing door. The stable block extends south from the west bay of the barn, matching the barn's eaves height but with a lower pitched roof. It has stable doors and access to a loft in the upper part on the east side. A low lean-to structure is located next to the barn porch on the east. The barn showcases unjowled posts, pegged construction, straight braces, trusses with inclined straight queen-posts, and small posts at the middle of each wall-bay. This building is included for its group value.
