Description

Four carved stone figures are set in a low garden wall to the south of Stocks House. These figures date from around 1600 and are made of carved limestone. They depict early Renaissance terms, each featuring demi-figures that support baskets of fruit, all carved in high relief. Each figure stands about 2½ feet high and is positioned in a pier of the low wall facing north. The manor house associated with the manor of Stocks has been located in this area since the 12th century.
