Description
Nos. 3, 4, and 5 on The Street are a block of three houses dating from the 17th century or earlier, with Nos. 4 and 5 featuring brick fronts added in the early 18th century, while No. 3 was constructed in the 19th century. The rear of No. 5 is timber framed with brick infill. The brick fronts are now painted, and the houses have steep old red tile roofs with corbelled eaves.
This two-storey range faces west and includes small front gardens. There are a total of four windows across the block, featuring 2-light flush casement windows with cambered arches. The earlier brick front of Nos. 4 and 5 has corbelled eaves and a floor band. No. 4 has one window on each floor, a door on the right-hand side, and a large internal chimney near its northern end. No. 5 has two windows on each floor, a central door, and a large internal axial chimney located on the rear slope of the roof at the junction with a gabled two-storey rear wing. Additionally, there is a small south gable chimney and a late south end lean-to extension. No. 3 has one window on each floor and a door on the right-hand side, along with gabled trellis porches.
