Description

The former stable block, cottage, and adjoining garden walls to Broxbournebury Mansion House date from the 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features ribbed brick lintels, a stucco floor band, and a slate roof. It has a two-storey pedimented center flanked by one-storey side wings. The pediment includes a brick dentil design and a clock, with replacement sash windows on the first floor and 19th-century sash windows on the ground floor. The side wings have blocked arches that are flanked by roundels. There are late 19th-century rear extensions to the north and south, which have dentilled cornices, with the north wing being a two-storey cottage range that has five windows and three gables. A garden wall from the 18th or 19th century runs continuously with the west and south walls of the south extension on both sides. This wall is made of red brick with yellow stock brick coping and stands approximately 3 meters high.
