Description

The Stow is a late 16th century timber-framed and plastered house with a cross wing at its south end. A further wing extends to the rear on the west side. The cross wing has two storeys and attics, while the main block has one storey and attics. The windows are 18th and 19th century double-hung sashes with vertical glazing bars. The roofs are tiled, featuring an original central chimney stack with shafts rebuilt to the original pattern, and an external chimney stack of similar pattern at the south end. The upper room of the cross wing contains good moulded ceiling beams, and the roof is believed to retain its original construction.
