Description

Fairfield is an 18th century timber-framed and plastered house, believed to be around 1720, with a modern wing at the rear. The east front features a parapet and a stucco moulded cornice, with the front facing being lined as ashlar. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window front, featuring double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The central entrance has a six-panel door within a wooden doorcase including pilasters, a seal-circular fanlight with fan glazing, and the remains of a former open pediment. The roofs are tiled and have a double-pitched mansard construction. Inside, original features remain, including two fireplaces and windows with internal horizontal sliding shutters within the wall thickness.
