Description

Crown House is an 18th-century timber-framed and weather-boarded house located on Silver Street in Stansted Mountfitchet. It features a plastered wing that extends to the east at the north end. The building has two storeys and attics, with a four-window range on both the west and north fronts. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. On the ground storey, there are two 18th-century canted bays and two doorways adorned with pilasters and open dentilled pediments. A similar doorway is also present on the north front. The roof is tiled and has a wood modillion eaves cornice on the west front. Additionally, there are segmental-headed dormers on both the west and north fronts.
