York Cottage is an 18th-century timber-framed and plastered cottage, although it may be of earlier origin. It is a one-story building with attics. The cottage stands adjacent to and at a right angle to number 32, Adlington, and has a gabled end facing the road. It has casement windows and a thatched roof with a central chimney stack.
