Description

Marks is a house that dates back to the early 16th century, with an extension added in the late 16th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and includes a five-window range of 19th-century casements. At the rear, there is a 20th-century gabled and hipped extension. The house has 19th-century red brick chimney stacks. Inside, the original timber frame is visible, showcasing soffit tenon and diminished haunches on the floor joists. There is a small cellar at the north end that contains some 15th-century brickwork, and some original mullioned windows can still be seen. The house is situated on a moated site.
