Description
The granary, now used as a storage building, dates from the 16th century and is located on the roadside, 35 meters northwest of Blamster Hall. It features a timber frame with black weatherboarding and has a hipped and gabled roof covered with peg tiles. There is a later gabled extension on the southeast corner and a lean-to on the east side, both with slated roofs over red brickwork. The building stands two storeys high and retains a very complete timber frame with five bays. It has a clasped side purlin roof and additional intermediate principals that subdivide each bay. The roof is supported by straight windbraces, one in each half bay, and there is long straight wall bracing.
