Description
The Waggon and Horses Public House is a building dating from around 1580. It features a timber frame and is covered in white weatherboarding, topped with a hipped thatched roof. The structure has two small ridge line stacks and a front porch that is glazed and has a flat roof, added in the 20th century. The windows are 19th-century casements, each with a single horizontal glazing bar. Originally, it was a long wall jetty house consisting of three bays plus a stack bay, with jowled posts, internal cranked braces, and halved and bladed scarf joints. The upper chamber has two bays, with queen posts supporting the side purlins, along with inserted floors and a stack. The parlour is located at the east end, where there is a 17th-century extension bay.
