Description

This is a late 19th-century cast iron pump located approximately 5 metres southeast of Number 2 in Great Canfield, Church End. The pump features a fluted cap and finial, with the upper barrel also fluted. There is a foliate design around the base of the spout and a bucket hook designed in a scroll pattern. The handle has a double curvature that ends in a heart-shaped loop. The maker's name, Appleby & Co., is visible, though other words are illegible and may indicate Chesterfield, all set within an oval border. The pump is complete.
