Description

Yeoman Cottage is originally a 15th- to 16th-century hall house, which has been altered in the 19th century and renovated in the 20th century. It is a timber-framed and plastered building. The older western part of the house is two storeys high, with the upper storey projecting (jettied) on the north and west sides. A later eastern wing is one storey high with attics. Most of the windows are modern casements. The roof is tiled, with a hip at the western end and a small gable. A central square chimney stack is located at the east end, and the eastern wing features a gabled dormer window. The interior retains original features, including a dragon beam, an original door opening, and a crown post roof. There is also exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams, and joists throughout.
