Description

Maple Farm, formerly known as Maple Day School, is a cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame and plaster exterior with a thatched roof. The building has one storey and an attic, with a three-window range of modern leaded casements and two dormer windows. An original central red brick chimney stack is present, along with a modern enclosed porch. There are 20th-century extensions, including a one-storey and attic section at the north end that aligns with the main roof, and a single-storey flat-roofed section at the south end. Inside, a three-bay frame is visible, with the south end bay rising to a lower roof ridge, indicating that the building was constructed in two phases, although both are from the same general period.
