Description
The Old Post House is a mid-19th century brick and timber-framed house. It has a ‘T’ shaped plan, featuring a cross-wing at the western end and a lean-to extension at the rear. The north front features a two-storey gabled porch. The roofs are gabled and covered in plain tiles. The ground floor is primarily red brick, while the upper floors are a combination of exposed timber framing with plaster infill or decorative brick nogging, some tile hanging, and the cross-wing is jettied on the west side. Windows are contemporary casements, most with leaded lights. Two large brick stacks, designed to resemble 17th-century styles, have multiangular shafts.
