Description
This is an outbuilding located approximately 10 yards north of Maynards Farmhouse, dating from the 16th century or earlier. It is timber-framed, with art plastering and part weatherboarding, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The building consists of four bays; two of these have original floors featuring soffit tenons and diminished haunches at the joints, while the other two bays are open to the roof. Inside, there are three simple crown posts supported by arched braces. The structure includes several diamond mullion windows, some of which have shutter grooves, with a mix of complete, blocked, or altered windows. The roof was originally hipped at the south end and featured a gablet. The scarf joints in the top plate are halved and bridled.
